Where does the concept of our organization come from?

Our founder and president, Ariel Sepúlveda owns a BSIE, ME and Ph.D.  in Industrial Engineering.  Throughout his career he has always been interested in using statistics and mathematical approaches for real-life problem solving.  In particular, when it comes to data analysis, Ariel has a broad experience using Mathematica for addressing problems in Reliability, Quality Control, Business Intelligence, Data Mining and Analytics.  As a Quality Engineer in one of HP’s world-class manufacturing plants he designed, implemented and helped deploying two data analysis and reporting systems that have been used for years and have been transformed into the standard reporting systems and sources of information in the plant.  In the same company he also had the opportunity to work in a data mining and analytics team for a global marketing organization where he worked on several data mining projects and programs.  There he worked on many different projects like generating up-sell & cross-sell recommendations for HP products posted @ HPShopping.com, detecting fraud in service provider transactions
and developing statistical methods for identifying attrition patterns in customers accounts based on their purchase history.  All these experiences strengthened his data analysis skills and helped him develop the vision of what might be interpreted as a somehow new applied technical field which is formed by combining several disciplines: statistics, industrial engineering, systems engineering and marketing.  As a result Pronto Analytics was born: an organization to help companies use the available technology to collect, store, and analyze data, and then use that unique source of information in a systematic way such that companies spend less time fire fighting and more time building a solid business based on a culture of knowledge and awareness.
